Chapter Elections 2012
CSUEU Chapter 322 is having elections for Chapter Officers for the term 2012 - 2015.
The positions are: Chapter President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Organizing Chair, and Bargaining Unit Chairs for each of units 2, 5, 7, & 9.
At the Nominations Meeting held at Noon on February 13th, nominations were collected for the available positions.
For four positions, the nominees were unopposed, so they are elected immediately by acclamation. Those positions are:
Vice-President: Reyola Carlisle
Secretary/Treasurer: Janine De Leon
Bargaining Unit 9 Representative: Gus Leonard
Two positions are contested. They are:
President: Mark Lasnik and Cynthia "Cyndi" Olvera
Bargaining Unit 7 Representative: George Ball and Luana Conley
Three positions are vacant, and can be filled by appointment by the next Chapter President with the concurrence of the Chapter Executive Board. Those positions are:
Organizing Chair
Bargaining Unit 2 Representative
Bargaining Unit 5 Representative
Voting
The main voting will be at a Chapter Elections Meeting on Monday, March 19th, Noon to 1pm in the World Theater.
For people who are unable to make that meeting, the following other options are available:
Friday, March 16th, 8am - 10am, TAFM Library, Office with Roll-up door on the West Side, near 1180.
Friday, March 16th, Noon to 2pm, HR Conference Room, Mountain Hall (Bldg. 84) Suite E
Monday, March 19th, 10am to Noon, World Theater Lobby
If you are unable to make any of these dates/times, please make an appointment with Andrew Coile to vote at his office in Building 201 (University Corporation) Room 217C up until Thursday March 15th..
Only Unit 7 members can vote for the Bargaining Unit 7 Representative position. All members can vote for Chapter President. Any CSUEU-represented employee who is not currently a member can fill out a Membership Application, and then immediately vote in the election.
Voting is by secret ballot. The votes will be tallied at the Chapter Elections Meeting on March 19th and immediately announced. In the absence of any protest, winners assume office immediately.
The attached PDF file has the official 100-word Candidate Statements from each candidate. The candidates were optionally allowed an up-to-two page PDF to describe their candidacy, and those are also in the file.

Please note that the Chief Steward is not elected by the general membership, but by the Certified Stewards on campus at a regularly scheduled Stewards Council meeting.
